New Year! New Camp Season!

If you are like most, you probably were not too upset to see 2020 end. However, I find it is an awesome time to reflect on the past year in order to prepare for the exciting future. Many of us choose to set resolutions or goals for the upcoming year and at CSF, we are no different. This year we have made several commitments so that we are able to hold camp this summer.

We are committed to providing an awesome Christ centered camping experience this upcoming summer 2021. One of the most challenging decisions made this past year was to cancel the 2020 summer program, but it gave us a chance to figure out how to hold camp as safely as possible amidst the challenges that COVID-19 presents. We studied countless versions of guidelines and continue to review our program, to make sure that no matter where we are in June, we have the precautions necessary to hold camp safely. We continue to educate ourselves and will in turn provide our summer staff with the tools necessary to protect themselves, and the camper families they serve.

We are committed to improving our physical site to provide added safety for our groups. One of the many challenges that we face in this pandemic is how to safely distance groups in order to protect our camp community. In an effort to solve this problem, we will look to create more safe spaces in the event of inclement weather, where groups often have to gather in closer proximity. We will look to provide more handwashing stations to promote better hygiene practices. We will provide barriers where necessary to prevent airborne exposure as much as possible. With these measures in combination with our program that takes place almost entirely outdoors, we will be able to have a safe successful camping season.

Finally, we are committed to continuing our learning during these ever-changing times. The regulations for how to hold camp as safely as possible are changed regularly. We are committed as a team to continue to read these changes, and listen to our colleagues who can offer helpful perspective, while still maintaining a program that our community deserves. We will continue to apply the information to our program and site so families can feel encouraged to utilize Carson Simpson a child care provider and awesome camp experience, while our potential staff can feel encouraged, that their safety remains a top priority for the leadership here at Carson Simpson Farm.

I am so excited for this camp season in 2021 and I am excited for the work that God will be able to do at our site this upcoming year. I encourage our camper families to register and take advantage of this potentially life changing camper experience and I encourage any interested staff to consider applying for this season, and allow God to help you grow in your own life by serving others.
