Outdoor Education and Adventure

Take learning outside! Students will learn about environmental sciences, teamwork, or outdoor adventure skills while enjoying beautiful nature.

What We Offer

Carson Simpson Farm’s 60+ acres is home to incredible biodiversity, allowing us to create science-based activities for students from 2nd-12th grades. Pick from a wide range of sessions developed by experienced educators, and we will build a custom 3-4 hour program designed specifically for your group’s interests.

Outdoor Education: Sessions focus on science-backed learning made fun! Students can learn more about sustainable farming, ecosystems, habitats, wildlife, plant identification, and more while enjoying the benefits of being outdoors. Activities take place within working ecosystems, including a homestead-style farm, the woods, a natural creek, and open fields. (View Outdoor Education Sessions)

Outdoor Adventure: Learn new skills in surviving in the wilderness or in building teamwork while in the woods! Students will gain practical experiences and skill in things like building fires, identifying helpful and harmful plants, navigation, fishing, hiking, building a shelter, and more. Outdoor Adventure can also be customized for physical education, focusing on camp games and building teamwork. (View Outdoor Adventure Sessions)

Session availability is subject to change based on seasons and weather. Sessions can be scheduled in the Fall (Labor Day - November 1) and Spring (March 1 - June 1).

Embrace the Benefits of Being Outdoors

How It Works

When you Contact Us with a reservation request, you will be able to tell us a bit about your group and which activities your students will enjoy the most. Your group can include 10-250 people. (We will break large groups into smaller “classroom” groups on site.) After connecting with you further, we will build a curriculum for your day, custom-designed for your students’ interests and ages. Your schedule will include 3-4 activities, each lasting 40-45 minutes, with an option for you to lead your own session at the end of the day before you leave.

Prices are $4 per person, per activity. (Select activities include an additional charge for materials.) A $100 downpayment is required to secure your reservation.
