About the Program

Trailblazers Outdoor Skills Series is a 6-week outdoor adventure program designed to help kids build confidence, teamwork, and practical outdoor skills in a fun and engaging camp environment.

Each Saturday morning, participants will learn new skills through interactive lessons, hands-on activities, team challenges, and outdoor exploration. From navigation and shelter building to outdoor safety and problem-solving, every session is designed to keep kids active, learning, and working together.

This program focuses on building confidence, independence, and a love for the outdoors through safe, age-appropriate experiences.

What Will Kids Learn

Throughout the 6-week series, participants may:

  • Learn outdoor safety basics

  • Practice navigation and map-reading skills

  • Build shelters using natural materials

  • Explore fire safety and responsibility

  • Participate in survival-style team challenges

  • Build teamwork and leadership skills

  • Strengthen problem-solving and communication

How does each session work?

Skill Lesson- Interactive instruction and demonstrations introducing the week’s outdoor skill.

Hands-On Activity- Participants work individually and in teams to practice and apply what they learned.

Challenge Game- Fun outdoor challenges that encourage teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.

Reflection & Wrap-Up- A quick group discussion to review skills and celebrate accomplishments.

Age Groups

Trailblazers is designed for kids who enjoy hands-on learning, outdoor exploration, teamwork, and adventure.

Participants will be grouped by age and ability level when needed to ensure activities remain engaging, safe, and age-appropriate for everyone involved.

Wanderers (Preschool-PreK)

A parent-and-child experience focused on hands-on nature exploration, discovery, sensory activities, and guided outdoor play. Parents or guardians are required to remain in attendance during sessions.

Explorers (Kindergarten- 2nd Grade)

Participants will build foundational outdoor skills through interactive lessons, teamwork, games, and beginner-level adventure challenges.

Adventurers(3rd- 5th Grade)

Designed for older participants ready to expand on what they may already know through more advanced challenges, problem-solving activities, teamwork missions, and outdoor skill development.

Wanderers: $150

Explorers and Adventurers: $210
This fee includes all 6 Saturday sessions, instruction, activity materials, and program supplies.

Enrollment reserves your child’s spot for the full 6-week series. Sessions are not prorated or refunded for missed weeks.

  • Participants should come prepared for outdoor activities.

    Recommended items include:

    • Closed-toe shoes

    • Comfortable outdoor clothing

    • Water bottle

    • Weather-appropriate layers

    Additional details and reminders will be sent before the program begins.

  • Programs will run in light to mild rain. In cases of severe and unsafe weather, families will be notified of schedule adjustments.

  • Yes. Each session includes standalone activities that kids can enjoy and learn from weather or not they attend all sessions.

  • Absolutely. All activities are designed with safety, supervision, and age-level engagement in mind.
